The stage adaptation of It’s a Wonderful Life by James W. Rodgers is a faithful theatrical retelling of the classic story first popularized by Frank Capra’s film.
It follows George Bailey, an ordinary man from the small town of Bedford Falls who sacrifices his personal dreams to support his family and community. On Christmas Eve, overwhelmed by financial trouble and regret, George considers ending his life. At that moment, his guardian angel Clarence intervenes and shows him an alternate reality in which he was never born. Through this experience, George realizes the profound positive impact he has had on others and comes to appreciate the value of his life.
The play emphasizes themes of community, self-worth, and the idea that no life is insignificant, presenting a heartwarming message about the importance of relationships, generosity, and hope—especially during the holiday season.
